Business Engineer - Encoders & Motion Solutions (USA / Europe)
About the Role
We are looking for a business driven professional with experience in encoders or industrial sensing technologies, able to combine technical understanding with customer engagement.
In this role, you will play a key part in developing new business opportunities with OEM customers, supporting the growth of SKF’s sensing-enabled solutions, including encoder technologies.

Your Mission
Your mission is to identify, develop and win new customer projects in automation, robotics and motion control applications — by combining your technical background with a strong commercial mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
· Business Development
o Develop new business opportunities with OEM customers in automation, robotics, machine tools and motion control
o Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, from early engagement to project closure
o Understand customer needs, applications and architectures to position SKF solutions effectively
o Contribute to account strategies in collaboration with regional Sales teams
· Customer Engagement
o Interact with both engineering and commercial stakeholders
o Support technical discussions and solution positioning (with support from internal experts when needed)
o Build trusted relationships with customers and partners
· Internal Collaboration
o Work closely with Sales, Product Management and Engineering teams
o Provide market feedback to support product development and business strategy
o Contribute to the promotion of SKF’s sensing and encoder solutions internally and externally
We expect you to have/be
Required Experience
· Experience in encoders, industrial sensors, or motion control technologies
· Exposure to OEM customers in automation, robotics, or industrial applications
· Ability to engage with both technical and commercial stakeholders
Mindset & Skills
· Strong business drive and proactive approach
· Customer oriented mindset
· Ability to translate technical understanding into customer value
· Autonomous, structured and result oriented
· Professional proficiency in German and English
Nice to Have
· Experience in technical sales, application engineering, or business development
· Knowledge of PLC, drives, robotics or motion control environments
· Familiarity with encoder technologies (absolute / incremental, magnetic, inductive, optical)
· Engineering degree in electronics or mechatronics or another relevant technical discipline

Some additional information
This position will be located in Europe - Gothenburg (Sweden), Saint-Cyr-sur Loire (France), Schweinfurt (Germany), or Poznań (Poland), or in one of our major SKF sites in Europe, or in the USA (ideally near industrial automation hubs) on local contract.
You will report to the Global Product Line Manager Intelligent Bearings, who is located in Saint-Cyr-sur Loire, France.
