We are on the lookout for a Legal Counsel to join the Antitrust and Trade Law team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.
The Antitrust and Trade Law team is responsible for Delivery Hero's competition and trade law matters globally, covering the 70+ jurisdictions where we operate. We are involved from the start on exciting M&A transactions, develop strategies in relation to competition investigations, and foster compliance efforts with competition and sanctions laws throughout the entire group. We are a dynamic team, regularly dealing with novel questions and coming up with innovative solutions to address both legal risks and business needs.
* Support the team in advising on competition law aspects of Delivery Hero’s global operations, including merger control, antitrust investigations, and commercial agreements
* Assist in assessing merger control and foreign direct investment (FDI) filing requirements for cross-border transactions
* Contribute to due diligence processes, drafting and reviewing related documentation, and supporting post-merger integration from a competition law perspective
* Help coordinate and respond to antitrust investigations, including liaising with internal stakeholders and external counsel
* Provide guidance to local legal teams on day-to-day competition law questions and compliance matters
* Support the team on international trade law topics, particularly sanctions and export control compliance
* Help prepare and deliver internal trainings to raise awareness of competition and trade law risks
* Liaise with external legal advisors and help manage external legal spend
* Be an engaged and curious team player, ready to tackle emerging issues in a fast-paced, international environment
Qualifications
What you need to be successful
* You have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in competition and/or trade law, gained at a reputable international law firm or in-house legal team.
* You bring a solid understanding of EU competition law, including merger control, vertical agreements, and antitrust investigations.
* You’ve had exposure to foreign direct investment (FDI) regimes, foreign subsidies regulations, or EU/US sanctions laws – and are keen to deepen your expertise in this area.
* You communicate clearly and pragmatically in English (German would be a plus), making complex legal concepts accessible to both legal and non-legal colleagues.
* You’re organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing several projects at once without losing sight of business needs and legal risks.
* You have strong drafting and analytical skills and are comfortable reviewing commercial agreements, such as service or distribution contracts.
