Beschreibung

Hardenberg Consulting is the leading headhunting company in veterinary medicine. Our client is the Center of Small Animal Medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich. As a university of excellence, LMU, with its more than 500-year history, is one of the largest universities in Europe and stands for demanding academic education and outstanding research. Its comprehensive global network with renowned partner universities and research centers contributes significantly to the international diversity that clearly shapes the campus.

Located in Munich Schwabing, in a vibrant yet nature-oriented setting directly next to the English Garden, the LMU Small Animal Clinic welcomes its patients and their owners. The highly motivated, close-knit, and cosmopolitan team of more than 200 staff members works daily toward realizing the shared mission of providing the best possible patient care and excellent training standards. A pioneering spirit in research and a high level of scientific rigor go hand in hand here with first-class clinical care and human empathy.

In order to keep pace with medical progress and the continuous growth of knowledge, the recruitment of additional specialized colleagues to the university veterinary hospital team is being actively promoted. Therefore, at the earliest possible date, we are seeking a full-time or part-time veterinarian as

Senior veterinary dentist (m/f/d)

The state-of-the-art equipment at our university clinic enables the international team of Diplomates to offer an exceptionally diverse and comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services: internal medicine, surgery, reproduction, radiology, anesthesia, and many other specialized disciplines.

The Department of Dentistry is currently being newly established and already has well-equipped instrumentation. It enables intraoral dental radiography, dental restorations, endodontic treatments, treatment of jaw fractures, as well as orthodontic procedures. Further targeted investments in new equipment and technologies are already planned and are expressly supported by the clinic management. This excellent starting position offers you the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the dental service. With extensive professional creative freedom, first-class technical support, and leadership that actively promotes the further development of this specialty area.

Your responsibilities: You are part of the clinic’s closely collaborating team of more than 30 senior physicians. In this key position, you will shape the structure and direction of a forward-looking, highly qualified dental team and make a significant contribution to establishing a clinically and scientifically excellent specialty area. You will manage complex dental cases, work closely and collegially with all other departments, and contribute your expertise to interdisciplinary senior physician meetings. A central component of your role is the dedicated training and continuing education of residents (EVDC/AVDC). You will actively help shape the residency program and promote the next generation of dental specialists. In addition, you will assume a central role in the education, teaching, and supervision of students as well as doctoral candidates. You will receive intensive encouragement and support in research and in supervising your own doctoral candidates. You will work closely with referring colleagues, utilizing the full spectrum of modern dental diagnostics and therapy. Your direct supervisor is the Clinic Director.

Requirements: You hold a German license to practice or an EU professional permit as a veterinarian. You are a Diplomate of the EVDC or AVDC, or, after completing your residency, are preparing for the corresponding examination. You have extensive clinical experience in small animal dentistry and are enthusiastic about further developing this specialty area. You enjoy teaching, structured supervision, and cooperative collaboration within a committed team. You are characterized by scientific curiosity and an interest in writing publications. You communicate clearly, respectfully, and appropriately for your audience – with colleagues as well as with students and pet owners.

What we offer: We offer you the rare opportunity to take on a key role in one of Germany’s leading veterinary clinics, which enjoys an outstanding reputation in research and teaching far beyond the country’s borders. The family-like working culture is characterized by warm collaboration, with regular team-building activities and internal events reflecting the strong sense of collegial unity.

As a senior vet dentist, you will always work in partnership and at eye level with the clinic management. This provides you with exceptional creative freedom to give space to your own ideas both in clinical work and in research and teaching. Your own office, flexible working hours, and the clinic management’s willingness to invest accordingly form the foundation for your personal success. If the examination for the Diplomate at the EC or AC is still ahead of you, we of course offer intensive support during the preparation phase.

Two renowned faculties of human medicine right on the doorstep offer ideal conditions for scientific cooperation. At the Small Animal Clinic of LMU, you can simultaneously establish yourself as a specialist with a global reach and make a significant contribution to the long-term success of the university clinic. This position offers the unique opportunity to sustainably shape the next generation of veterinarians! Your workplace is located in the heart of one of Europe’s most popular cultural metropolises. With numerous cultural monuments, museums, theaters, concert halls, and a famous opera house. The diverse gastronomic offerings as well as the proximity to the Alps and the lakes of Upper Bavaria provide a high quality of leisure time.

Our personnel development program specifically supports you in your professional advancement and opens up additional professional and scientific perspectives.

For initial contact, our consultant Dr. med. vet. Felix von Hardenberg and his team will be happy to assist you at +49 8178 998641-0. Please send your complete application documents (CV, salary expectations, and earliest possible starting date), quoting reference number 2583411, to
