Responsibilities:
1. Simulation and design of mechanical seals for gases and liquids
2. Structural analyses and strength assessments of components using FEM, including dynamic and thermal simulations
3. Development and maintenance of automated simulation workflows and development of calculation tools
4. Interpretation and presentation of simulation results to support decision-making in the product development process
Qualifications:
5. Completed studies (doctorate / PhD welcome) in mechanical engineering / process engineering / physics / technical mathematics, computational engineering or similar fields
6. Solid foundational knowledge in the fields of engineering mechanics, structural mechanics, thermodynamics, machine elements and materials science, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer
7. Knowledge of finite element analysis and the use of corresponding tools (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus)
8. Experience in applying artificial intelligence methods, especially in relation to physical systems (e.g. surrogate models, data-driven simulation, reinforcement learning)
9. Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, .NET, or similar
10. Very good German skills (at least C1) as well as good English skills, both written and spoken
11. Professional experience desired
