Expert Solids Processing (all genders)
Joining the Process Technologies Cluster, you will be part of a team that delivers safe, reliable, and sustainable technical solutions and innovations for Bayer. In close collaboration with research, development, and manufacturing functions worldwide, we drive the development and optimization of pioneering processes and technologies for chemical manufacturing. Our team serves as a global center of expertise for solids processing unit operations, contributing to sustainable solutions across crop protection, pharmaceuticals, and seeds processing.
As Expert for Solids Processing, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally within Bayer. You will support the development and optimization of comminution, drying, and generic solids handling processes for the manufacturing of active ingredients, formulations, and seed products. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will contribute to laboratory experimentation, data analysis, and knowledge sharing, while gaining exposure to projects that deliver robust, scalable, and sustainable solids processing solutions.
YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* You plan and supervise laboratory experiments to develop and optimize comminution, drying, and solids handling processes.
* You assist in scale-up activities and technology transfer to pilot and production scale.
* You assist in the experimental and/or analytical characterization of particle and solid mixture properties and document agglomeration, flowability, and drying behavior under various process conditions.
* You prepare technical reports and contribute to internal knowledge databases.
* You collaborate with scientists and engineers across divisions in a dynamic shared ownership model.
* You participate in internal workshops, training sessions, and knowledge exchange forums.
* You support the preparation of presentations and materials for external scientific engagement.
* You supervise laboratory equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
WHO YOU ARE
* You hold an MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field and have gained initial experience in solids processing development through professional roles, internships, or academic thesis work, PhD is preferred
* You have hands-on experience and a good understanding of solids processing technology principles and laboratory techniques, including solids characterization methods
* You demonstrate a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and enjoy working across scientific and technical disciplines
* You are motivated by continuous learning and actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills
* You have good communication and documentation skills
* You show enthusiasm for working in a shared ownership model and actively contribute to cross-divisional innovation
