To support our growing business, we are looking for a Senior System Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Global Product Support team.
In this position, you will play a key role at the interface between engineering, manufacturing, service, and our global customers. You will initially work hands-on with our systems, and over time, you will help scale knowledge across the organization.
Commission, calibrate, and support complex semiconductor and display manufacturing systems at customer sites worldwide
Perform advanced troubleshooting directly on the equipment (mechanical, electrical, software, and system level)
Create training materials and deliver training to Customer Engineers, Technical Product Support teams, and other stakeholders
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities both internally and at customer sites
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality & Reliability, and Software teams to resolve field issues sustainably
Contribute to building and scaling global technical knowledge and support capabilities
You are a hands-on engineer with strong system understanding who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and sharing knowledge with others.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
Several years of experience in commissioning, field service, system engineering, or troubleshooting of complex equipment
Strong understanding of control systems / control engineering (highly preferred)
Ability to think across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, system level)
Experience in semiconductor equipment, special-purpose machinery, vacuum technology, or automation is a plus
Hands-on mindset and willingness to work directly on complex systems
Fluent in English; German is a plus
You will act as a technical multiplier, not only solving problems but also building the frameworks, documentation, and training that enable global teams to operate and support our systems efficiently.
You will play a critical role in scaling knowledge across Applied Materials' global organization.
