Role Overview:
A major technology company in Nuremberg is seeking a forward-thinking Power Electronics Engineer to drive innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and power electronics. This role focuses on creating AI-driven design methodologies for future datacenter power supply solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and develop advanced converter technologies by integrating AI into power electronics, including magnetic components, control strategies, and circuit topologies.
* Collaborate with the local engineering team to overcome technical challenges and improve performance of power supply systems using AI-based approaches.
* Build and expand collaborations with European universities and research institutes, fostering partnerships and knowledge exchange.
* Monitor industry and academic developments in AI and power electronics, assessing emerging trends and opportunities.
* Deliver regular insights and contribute to AI-powered technology roadmaps for next-generation power supply applications.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Master’s or Ph.D. in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related fields (with a focus on AI applications).
* Proven background in power electronics research and/or product development, with strong experience applying innovative design concepts in areas such as control strategies, magnetic components, or converter topologies.
* Practical experience with AI model design and training using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
* Knowledge of modern deep learning methods, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Transformer architectures, and related approaches.
* Awareness of current and future AI applications in power electronics, with the ability to address technical challenges and industry needs.
* Prior experience with high-current power supply systems for datacenters is an advantage.
* Strong technical communication skills in English.
