Hauptaufgaben
Troubleshoots, disassembles and repairs rifles, pistols, shotguns, sub-machineguns and other weapons of similar complexity, and subassemblies of large more complicated weapons like multi barrel machine guns, rocket launchers, automatic cannons, cannon assemblies, cannon recoils, cannon support systems, ground mounts, recoilless rifles, portable flamethrowers, mortar systems, grenade launchers, howitzers and fire extinguishers. Checks parts for obvious wear and defects, sorts doubtful parts for check-up by higher-level workers. Makes minor repair to parts, and re-assembles the weapon, makes operational checks, bores cope and pull over test, adjustments, and often test-fires the completed weapon. Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, modifies, tests, calibrates, and installs a variety of multicomponent, and precision measurement instruments and equipment, i.e., night vision devices, optical instruments and fire control equipment.
Understands the mechanical systems in order to disassemble weapons into major components. Examines and determines condition of components; sets aside components with obvious wear or damage, (e.g., bent parts, loose rivets, broken teeth or cams, burrs, scratches, pitting, and rust); repairs weapons by honing, grinding, sandblasting, rust removal, degreasing and soldering; replaces non repairable parts; reassembles weapons and makes adjustments to ensure smooth operation.
Analyzes and tests continuity of circuits with applicable test equipment.
Applies a variety of go, no-go gauges to check for proper assembly and operating tolerance such as correct amount of headspace and timing, amount of wear at the muzzle or proper size of portholes in barrel. Uses hand tools to include files, hones, drills, hammers, and punches to smooth burrs and scratches in metal parts, to replace loose rivets on receivers or other assemblies to refinish wood or composition gunstock and handgrips.
Obtains replacement parts and turns in serviceable parts adhering to authorized policies and required procedures, stores repair parts and tools in containers and racks. Maintains and performs preventive maintenance on tools, repair parts, equipment and assigned vehicles. Complies with policies pertaining to safeguarding weapons. Maintains status and accountability of T.M.D.E. Provides advice, assistance and instruction to using units on proper operation and unit maintenance of small arms weapons.
Reads, understands and applies information contained in technical manuals, safety of use messages and common schematic diagrams. Interprets work orders to determine nature of malfunction.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifikationsanforderungen

Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently.
Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten, PLUS 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Lohngruppe 5 oder in, vom Schwierigkeitsgrad vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten, welche selbstaendig ausgeuebt wurden.

8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.

Es handelt sich um eine unbefristete Vollzeitstelle (38.5 Std./Woche). / This is a permanent fulltime position (38.5 hrs./week).
• Falls erforderlich, ist der Arbeitnehmer verpflichtet häufig und regelmässig Dienstreisen innerhalb und ausserhalb Deutschlands durchzuführen und regelmässig Schichtarbeit, Wochenend- und Feiertagsarbeit in erforderlichem Umfang zu leisten. / If requirement exists, the incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend and holiday work.
• Heben und Tragen bis zu 18 kg erforderlich. / Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
