Position Overview The Maintenance Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lift equipment maintenance operations within wind farm environments. This senior leadership position requires a deep understanding of vertical access systems, wind energy operations, and safety management practices. The successful candidate will manage a team of technical professionals while ensuring compliance with international safety standards and maintaining exceptional service quality for our clients.
Key Responsibilities 1)Operations Management &Oversee comprehensive maintenance operations for all lift equipment including tower elevators, service lifts, climbing assistance devices, and high-altitude work platforms &Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend service life &Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure rapid resolution of critical equipment failures &Monitor and optimize performance metrics including equipment availability, response times, and maintenance costs 2)Safety and Compliance Management &Ensure full compliance with GWO (Global Wind Organisation) standards and safety protocols &Implement and maintain wind turbine tower elevators &Develop and enforce comprehensive safety management systems for high-altitude work operations &Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments for all maintenance activities 3)Team Leadership and Development &Lead and mentor a team of technical specialists, maintenance engineers, and field technicians &Provide technical supervision and guidance for complex maintenance and repair operations &Develop training programs and ensure team certification requirements are maintained &Foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement 4)Strategic Planning and Budget Management &Develop annual operational budgets and manage resource allocation effectively &Negotiate vendor contracts and manage supplier relationships for equipment and parts &Implement cost optimization strategies while maintaining service quality standards &Plan and oversee capital equipment investments and technology upgrades 5)Client Relations and Business Development &Maintain strong relationships with wind farm operators and major industry clients &Collaborate with clients to develop customized maintenance solutions &Support business development initiatives and proposal development &Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction
Required Qualifications and Experience 1)Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field 2)Professional Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and operations management Or Minimum 5 years of specific experience in the machinery or high altitude servicing industry Or Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams and maintenance operations Experience in managing international service organization for more than 20 frontline technicians and backend full serivce support functions 3)Technical Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of high-altitude work platforms and vertical access systems Familiarity with wind turbine systems and wind farm O&M (Operations & Maintenance) practices Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in lift equipment Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) 4)Certifications and Training Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple wind farm sites is a plus Management and Communication Skills Proven budget management and financial planning experience Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese (written and verbal) Excellent leadership and team management capabilities Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software 5)Preferred Qualifications Bachelor/Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field Experience with international wind farm projects and global operations Familiarity with major lift equipment manufacturers such as 3S Lift, Hailo Wind Systems, or similar Experience with offshore wind farm operations Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus Experience with remote monitoring and IoT systems for equipment management

Working Conditions This position requires station in Germany and regular travel to wind farm sites, including potential work in challenging weather conditions.
