The Project Developer will lead the advancement of BESS projects from initial to late-stage development. You should be energized by working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, working with both external and internal stakeholders to bring projects through their development lifecycle.
Support the identification and evaluation of project sites taking into consideration the national, state and local permitting regimes and their impact on prospect success
You should have a strong overview of the permitting stage of all prospects in the Noveria portfolio and carry out regular reviews with management to align project timelines to other development workstreams
Prepare materials provided to landowners and grid operators including GIS maps, SLD’s, and data sheets. Selection and management of external, local planning offices to streamline the permitting process while keeping costs under control
Meet with local municipalities to gain confidence in the project and Noveria, and act as the face of Noveria in presentations to the municipal committees, and to local residents in the community to build trust in the local area around the project to de-risk the permitting process
Support new projects through creation of project schedules, checklists, budgets, and other tracking tools as needed.
Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to quickly address project challenges
This is a permanent contract opportunity. You have proven experience supporting renewable energy projects to achieve key milestones within Germany, with specialization in permitting and community engagement.
At least 2 years of relevant experience within renewable energy project development, environmental consulting, or project permitting at a government level
Experience managing the permitting process for 5+ projects in Germany
Knowledge of the main planning regimes for BESS in Germany including the concept of privilege in outer areas, B-plan and Flachennutzungsplan amendments, BImSchG and Planfestellungsverfahren
You speak German fluently, and English to a B2 level minimum
Bachelor's degree in environmental, renewable energy, engineering, or related fields
Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in parallel, and delegate to external resources
