Tech Lead | Modern Fintech Platform | Düsseldorf or Remote within Germany
We're looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to help shape the future of a product used by hundreds of thousands of people. This is an opportunity to take ownership of both the technical direction and the professional growth of a team within one of Europe’s leading fintech platforms.
In this role, you’ll work as part of a cross-functional team to build software that makes a real difference—collaborating with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. You’ll lead by example, writing production-ready code while helping set engineering direction and supporting the development of your team.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading a team of engineers, supporting their growth through mentoring, code reviews, and regular feedback
* Taking an active role in architectural decisions and defining engineering direction
* Staying hands-on, writing clean, maintainable code using modern object-oriented practices
* Collaborating with product and business teams to deliver user-focused features
* Driving engineering best practices and helping to evolve our internal standards
* Building and running services on AWS with modern DevOps tooling
What we’re looking for:
* Experience leading engineering teams or acting as a senior developer with a strong mentoring mindset
* Solid experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., PHP, Java, C# or similar)
* Comfortable designing systems in a modern cloud environment (preferably AWS)
* A collaborative, team-first approach and strong communication skills
* A user-focused mindset: you care about solving meaningful problems, not just writing code
* Familiarity with agile development practices and continuous delivery
* Bonus: experience with event-driven architecture or tools like Kafka
