Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the R&D Automotive Director - the Automotive BU Product Development Specialist will be responsible for the following activities:
* Development and design of cables for automotive applications
* Realization of new products with extended performance profile in accordance with international standards and customer specifications
* Initiation, implementation and leading of product development projects
* Coordination of all engineering related activities with cross functional teams to ensure technical aspects of the project is executed according to Project timeline
* Providing documentation and reporting to the R&D management of the BU Automotive
* Management of the basic article data and design parameters as well as routing in the construction software and in the ERP system
* Responsibility for initial sampling and coordination of product testing on new products
* Coordination product approvals at customer side (OEMs, Harness maker)
* Preparation of technical product information and customer presentations
* Management of contacts to customers, suppliers, and internal departments at home and abroad
* Technical support to sales, production, and quality department
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate with the following key requirements:
* University degree in Electrical engineering or similar technical degree
* Conversational and technical English for communication at international level
* At least 5 years R&D experience, mainly in Cable design or Engineering Teams
* Professional experience in product development for automotive cables - especially in Data or High Voltage cables
* Team player with great assertiveness, initiative, and flexibility
* Good knowledge and experience in Project Management
* Knowhow on automotive core tools (e.g APQP, PPAP)
* Knowledge of ERP programs (SAP)
* Good communication, negotiation and team working skills
* Short duration travel all around the world visiting affiliates and customers/seminars will be required
* Intermediate knowledge of the German language is appreciated
