Summary:
Provides technical support to field sales, distributors, and customers both remotely and in-person, with job specific details utilizing sound engineering principles. Provides on-site field supervision to support fire test programs and key customer projects. Manages and initiates the creation of technical collateral to support the commercialization of new system introductions and existing business. Assists in the design and evaluation of optimized and customer-specific systems. Coordinates product testing and system certification conducted at independent test labs. Conducts training seminars for new salespersons, distributors, customers and industry professionals. Attends industry meetings and participates in associations involved with the development of codes and standards that create demand for passive fire protection systems and Alkegen Products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Must be able to complete application engineering requests within a timely manner
2. Responsible for providing technical support directly to customers, operations, field sales as needed. Includes costing information, formal quotations and required drawings
3. Communication skills required to build relationships with customers and Field Sales Engineers; sharing customer issues and concerns within the team and sales.
4. Provide product samples according to customer needs. May be required to manage the sample system for providing samples of commercial products.
5. Develop presentation materials, application development, and specifications for educating customers on the use of assigned materials developed by Alkegen.
6. Completes technical service requests and write reports as assigned. May also include production transfers between sites: Validation of specifications, project management, drawings and trials

Qualifications:
10. Engineering Degree/College, High School Diploma, or technical knowledge
11. A minimum of 2 years' experience
12. Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings
13. Strong computer skills – capable of using MS Excel tools to perform calculations and interpret results
14. Proficient in the use of SolidWorks or other software to create single-component 3D designs and drawings
15. Strong problem-solving skills
16. Fluent in English (mandatory) and German (desirable)
17. Excellent organizational and communication skills
18. Willing to travel up to 30% of the time
