Overview
A European engineering and construction group is seeking an experienced finance leader to stabilize and transform its international finance function during a phase of growth and structural change. The role offers the opportunity to build robust financial systems and governance frameworks, lead a small international team, and drive transparency, control and efficiency across all entities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Leadership
Lead and manage all aspects of the group’s finance function, including accounting, reporting, treasury and cash management.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closings and consolidated reporting.
Partner with the board and senior management to provide financial analysis and strategic decision support.
Transformation & Process Improvement
Implement modern systems and processes to increase efficiency and data reliability.
Lead digitalization initiatives (ERP, BI, forecasting tools) and reduce dependency on external partners.
Strengthen forecasting, cashflow management and KPI transparency for management reporting.
Controls, Governance & Compliance
Design and embed a robust internal control framework.
Enhance financial security in cooperation with external advisors.
Ensure compliance with HGB standards and effective group reporting to international stakeholders.
Lead, coach and develop a small finance team.
Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, fostering collaboration with HR and Operations.
What You Bring
Degree in finance, accounting, or business administration; CPA, ACCA or comparable qualification advantageous.
10+ years of professional experience in accounting, controlling, or group finance roles within international, project-based industries such as engineering, technical services or construction.
Proven track record in finance transformation and system implementation.
Strong HGB knowledge and sound understanding of reporting, compliance and governance processes.
Hands-on leadership style and flexibility, capable of balancing strategic oversight and operational execution.
Fluent in English and German (C1 minimum).
Eligibility to work in the EU.
