Based in Thuringia, we manage high-quality medicinal cannabis products sourced from international partners and ensure compliant processing, packaging, and distribution throughout Germany.
We are looking for a Supply Chain & Procurement Manager, who will be responsible for leading and optimizing the complete supply chain for medical cannabis products within a German pharmaceutical organization operating as a wholesaler, importer, distributor, and manufacturer. The role ensures seamless global sourcing, GDP/GMP-compliant logistics, regulatory adherence (BtMG, AMG, AMRadV), and reliable delivery to pharmacies, hospitals, and distribution partners. The manager will act as the primary interface between international cultivation partners, logistics providers, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies such as BfArM.
Responsibilities
• Develop sourcing strategies for medical cannabis flowers, extracts, APIs, and packaging materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with EU-GMP-certified international suppliers.
• Develop demand forecasts aligned with market requirements and pharmacy demand.
• Plan inbound shipments from approved international cultivation sites.
• Ensure compliance with BtMG, AMG, AMRadV, and GDP/GMP requirements.
• Manage BtM-compliant inventory systems, including secured storage and access control.
• Oversee warehouse operations related to controlled substances.
• Coordinate inbound logistics including temperature-controlled shipments, customs clearance, and GDP-certified carriers.
• Oversee outbound deliveries to pharmacies, distributors, and hospitals.
Requirements
• Completed Bachelor degree.
• 5+ years experience in supply chain or procurement.
• Prior experience with cannabis or strong interest in the industry is a must.
• Understanding of BtMG, GDP, GMP, and German pharmaceutical regulations.
• Experience with EU-GMP cannabis imports and international logistics.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Readiness for business trips for 80% of the time
