About the role
Do you enjoy moving seamlessly between research papers and real-world solutions? By joining our team as an AI / ML Research Engineer (m/f/d), you will have the opportunity to explore and adapt cutting-edge AI technologies, turning them into working prototypes for robotics, automation, and digital twin applications.
Your Responsibilities
* Model Exploration: Research, evaluate, and adapt emerging AI models (LLMs, VLMs, 3D vision, RL) for robotics, automation, and digital-twin use cases.
* Pipeline Design: Build and optimise data pipelines for multimodal input (text, vision, 3D), including retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows.
* Prototype Development: Rapidly implement and test proofs-of-concept, translating research papers into working solutions.
* Integration Support: Collaborate with robotics, mechanical, and software engineers to validate models in real-world environments.
* Deployment: Use Docker/Kubernetes/AWS to package and deploy applications and support the transition from prototype to pilot.
* Research Awareness: Keep track of the latest advancements and suggest relevant techniques for experimentation.
Your Profile
* Education: Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or related field (advanced degree or equivalent practical experience welcome).
* Technical Skills: Strong Python programming, deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and familiarity with MLOps tools (Docker, K8s, AWS/Azure).
* AI Expertise: Solid experience with computer vision, 3D perception, and/or reinforcement/imitation learning; comfort with LLM/VLM architectures.
* Deployment: Proven track record in delivering machine learning (ML) solutions from prototype to production.
* Data Handling: Ability to curate, preprocess, and manage large multimodal datasets.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex ideas to non-AI colleagues and work across disciplines.
