Beam is the corporate venture builder of BEUMER Group — a global leader in intralogistics. We build startups that solve critical problems across the logistics and industrial sectors.
We are looking for experienced entrepreneurs to co-found startups with us. As an Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR), you’ll work through a validation phase for up to 18 months to test and prove one of our pre-validated venture opportunities. You will collaborate with Beam’s internal team and BEUMER experts to deeply understand the problem space, define the solution, and prepare for company formation.
Your mission
is an AI-powered baggage tracing platform that automates the currently broken, manual processes behind mishandled luggage in global aviation. With millions of bags delayed or lost every year — costing airlines over €5 billion annually — aims to improve the passenger experience.
Validated with 30+ industry interviews and showing real traction with pilots planned, is now ready to find the right entrepreneurial leader to scale this opportunity.
What you’ll do
1. Own the business vision: Deepen the commercial and operational understanding of the mishandled baggage space, refining ’s business model and GTM strategy.
2. Drive industry engagement: Conduct customer interviews across airlines, airports, and ground handlers to validate use cases and pricing.
3. Pilot to product: Execute proof-of-concept trials with commercial partners, and translate learnings into an MVP roadmap.
4. Shape a scalable venture: Develop the startup’s legal, operational, and commercial foundations with support from Beam’s venture team.
5. Position as a strategic asset for BEUMER Group: Work with BG’s Airport Systems unit to align the tech stack and open new revenue verticals with airlines and handlers.
Who you are
6. Background in aviation, airline operations, or airport innovation (, former roles at Lufthansa Innovation Hub, SITA, Swissport, etc.)
7. Experience in consulting, project management, or innovation within complex B2B environments
8. Strong understanding of AI, logistics tech, or SaaS platforms is a plus — but curiosity and fast learning matter more than code
9. Fluent in German & English
Strategic Qualities
10. You have end-to-end execution ownership – from idea to MVP to revenue
11. Can identify and validate customer pain points using qualitative insights and structured interviews
12. Comfortable working with AI teams, product designers, and corporate stakeholders
13. Ability to build strong narratives, pitch with clarity, and gain buy-in from airline execs or BEUMER stakeholders
14. Thrives in ambiguity and is motivated by building a “first-of-its-kind” solution
