We are looking for a passionate Senior Cloud Engineer to strengthen our growing cloud team. In this role, you will take ownership in shaping and evolving our Quantum Cloud - the backbone of Quantum-Systems’ cutting-edge aerial data solutions.
You will design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that empower our unmanned aerial systems (sUAV) to deliver world-class data collection capabilities. With your expertise, you’ll directly contribute to Quantum-Systems’ mission to become the global leader in aerial intelligence.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
* Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant backend systems using cutting-edge technologies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement product requirements.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues to ensure system uptime and stability.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and cloud trends.
* Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our backend systems.
* Mentor and guide junior developers to help them grow and develop their skills.
What you bring to the team:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in backend development.
* Strong experience with designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based backend systems.
* Deep expertise in Azure cloud offerings, including App Service, Functions, and Cosmos DB. Exposure to multi-cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS) is a plus.
* Strong background in relational databases and SQL (e.g., Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL) with hands-on experience in performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization.
* Strong understanding of modern authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, PKCE, JWT).
* In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
* Experience with data processing pipelines in a plus.
* Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain applications leveraging Java and the Spring platform.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
