Ph.D. Student / Junior Researcher Microeconomics / Applied Economics
Salary is in accordance with the German State Regulated Public Salary Scale (starting at TV-L E13 2/3).
Tasks The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge empirical research in at least one of the following areas
~ natural resources and environment, - digitalisation, AI and smart technologies in the livestock sectors, - climate change and policy, - agricultural, food and environmental policy impact analysis, and/or - production efficiency and food markets.
leading to an internationally competitive PhD degree and internationally peer-reviewed publications.
The position will include significant involvement in selected nationally and internationally funded projects, such as various EU Horizon projects (e.g., Smart4Welfare, URSOILL) or nationally funded projects. He/she will receive high quality supervision from the chair's senior academic staff and might be involved in teaching at un-der/postgraduate level as well as funding acquisition and (global) outreach, if desired. International networking and collaborations are regarded as an integral part of the PhD research experience and are explicitly encouraged (e.g. The PhD process will be accompanied by integration into TUM's School of Life Sciences or School of Management and participation in the related Graduate School training programs.
an excellent or very-good university degree in economics, environmental economics, agricultural sciences with a focus in economics, or related disciplines - strong analytical and methodological skills with a focus on quantitative data analysis (e.g., econometrics, sta-tistics, machine learning) - a high motivation and the ability to work independently with a strong team orientation - excellent spoken and written English and the will to acquire a certain working language of German.
