We are looking for a Research Associate Public & Government Affairs (f/m/d) to join our Berlin office at the earliest possible date. Research Associates serve as the main research backbone of our practice. They stay on top of relevant legislative and regulatory issues, support advising clients on political positioning opportunities, and support them in their public affairs activities. They are an integral part of our team and are working directly on 1-2 client mandates as well as supporting the business development of PGA in Berlin. What you can expect: Support the team on day-to-day client management and provide support for the team Obtain a comprehensive grasp of client specifics, including their business strategy, product and service portfolio, target customer segments, and competitive environment Provide client service support, which includes creating client status and activity reports, actively participating in meetings and conference calls, compiling reports on conversation monitoring and competitor coverage. Conduct research, content outlining, writing, editing, and proofreading materials. Assist in research tasks like analyzing online conversations, content calendar creation, and tracking legislative developments. Participate in supporting the new business process, including research, audits, and preparation of proposals. Working closely with other Edelman Germany practices, and especially with the Public Affairs teams in Brussels, London, and Washington, D.C. Representing the Public & Government Affairs practice at industry and networking events in Berlin’s political sphere Enthusiasm and motivation to help further build Edelman’s Public & Government Affairs practice in Germany What you bring: Previous internship experience in Public Affairs, government relations and associated areas Bachelor’s degree (or last two semesters) in a relevant field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience or relevant coursework Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment; ability to learn and adapt quickly to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines. Attention to detail when conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports; ability to ensure accuracy and precision in your work. Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to team and clients. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and market teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
