It’s bad manners to talk about money. Unless you’re in Finance & Accounting or Controlling & Analysis—the two large teams comprising Finance at BCG. Not only do these professionals talk about money all the time, they also really have to know what they’re talking about, since they’re responsible for accounting, taxes, payroll, travel management, and time and billing at BCG. In addition to purely financial workflows, they also ensure that our consultants have the best possible basis for making decisions in our various markets.
What You'll Do
Our Finance & Controlling department's Tax team is based in Düsseldorf. As a Working Student to the Tax team, you'll support all of its relevant activities, particularly in regard to wage tax and global mobility tax.
The Wage Tax team is responsible for flat-rate income tax payments for benefits in kind per § 37b and § 40 of German income tax law. You'll support monthly taxation, request and file event documents, and maintain Excel lists, was well as being responsible for the SharePoint filing system, reviewing event costs, and acting as a point of contact for any questions from the shared e-mail inbox. Performing various administrative issues and updating policies will also be among your tasks.
The Global Mobility Tax Team in Düsseldorf ensures compliance with laws governing wage tax and social security, double taxation agreements, reporting requirements for tax and other secondment programs, and the cross-office staffing of our consultants. It functions as an interface to Payroll, HR, and global functions. Here, you'll assist with the preparation of certification, act as contact in regard to travel calendars, and support us in related projects and process optimizations.
What You'll Bring
* You are enrolled as a student, majoring in economics.
* Ideally, you already have some experience in the field of finance, but it is not mandatory.
* You are proficient in the MS Office package, especially Excel, and able to work efficiently with Windows 10.
* Good written and spoken English and excellent German language skills round out your profile.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
* You have a strong affinity for numbers, data, and financial topics in general.
* You have an independent, structured, and service-oriented work style, along with being flexible, dedicated, friendly, and professional.
Who You'll Work With
As a Working Student, you’ll be part of the G&A Finance Team, which totals more than 50 members. Locally, you'll work with seven experienced colleagues.
