The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Account Manager (m/f/d) to lead an established on-site team within a rapidly growing organization.
In this senior leadership role, you will assume full operational, strategic, and commercial responsibility for one or more customer data center sites. Acting as the primary customer interface, you will ensure 24/7 operational excellence, drive continuous improvement, and build long-term customer partnerships while delivering sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Account Management
* Build, maintain, and expand strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective data center customers
* Act as the primary point of contact for customers whose data centers are operated on their behalf
* Conduct regular customer meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations
* Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery and proactive issue resolution
Operational & Site Leadership
* Ensure reliable 24/7 data center operations across customer site(s)
* Assume full on-site responsibility for all employees and services delivered by the organization
* Lead, motivate, recruit, and develop multidisciplinary technical and operational teams
* Ensure compliance with all employer obligations, including occupational health & safety, environmental protection, quality management, and social standards
Commercial & Financial Responsibility
* Hold full P&L responsibility for a substantial budget (OPEX, CAPEX, maintenance costs, subcontractors, personnel, etc.)
* Achieve defined revenue targets within the existing customer portfolio
* Identify and develop new business opportunities within key accounts
* Drive revenue growth through the sale of data center-related products and services
Business Development & Strategy
* Identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions aligned with infrastructure and business objectives
* Support customers by implementing additional services to continuously optimize and expand site operations
* Develop and execute customer account plans to achieve sales and business objectives
* Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including technical support, product management, and leadership teams
Your Profile
* Relevant commercial and/or technical qualification
* Proven experience in the operational and strategic management of critical infrastructure (e.g. data centers, hospitals, mission-critical facilities)
* Demonstrated experience in a comparable role with P&L responsibility within managed services or critical environments
* Strong background in strategic account management, including identifying and growing new business within existing customers
* Disciplinary leadership experience in operational environments, including people management, talent development, and cross-functional leadership
* Solid knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations
* Industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Data center operations
* Facility management
* Project management
* Building services engineering
* Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of financial KPIs
* Excellent stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels
* Structured, methodical, and solution-oriented working style
* High level of integrity and ability to build trust-based relationships
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
