OverviewSenior Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant (m/f/d) – Rail Sector. Location: Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Essen, Kassel, München, Germany. Join Ramboll’s German Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team and deliver full EIA and consenting services within the growing German Rail and Infrastructure market. Experience in conducting transport or infrastructure EIAs is required.Your new roleYou will be part of the Environment & Health (E&H) Department in Germany and a global network of EIA practitioners. Our EIA team covers local infrastructure, rail, and onshore wind projects, including international project-financed assignments. We are rolling out sector approaches for Rail and Energy to align and streamline our client services.ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Oversee the entire EIA process from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.Assessment and Analysis: Conduct detailed environmental impact assessments, including data collection and interpretation.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all EIA activities comply with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with clients, regulatory bodies, and public stakeholders; organize and lead public consultations and meetings.Report Preparation: Write comprehensive EIA reports, including Environmental Statements (ES), summarizing findings and recommendations.Technical Guidance: Provide technical recommendations to clients on minimizing environmental impacts.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior consultants and project teams to ensure high-quality work and professional development.Business Development: Identify new opportunities, prepare proposals, and secure EIA contracts.QualificationsExperience delivering EIAs for infrastructure/transport projects; familiarity with relevant German regulations.Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant environmental discipline with strong emphasis on EIA.Postgraduate qualification in environmental science/planning (or related field).Fluent in German and very good English skills.Personal qualitiesExcellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and industry peers.Willingness to travel, including possible international travel.What We Can Offer YouCommitment to your developmentLeadership guided by our Leadership PrinciplesA culture that welcomes you as your authentic selfInspiration from colleagues, clients, and projectsLong-term thinking of a foundation-owned companyFlexible working hours and locations; hybrid working: 2-3 days per week on-site or remotePermanent employment, with part-time possibilitiesExtensively subsidised Germany ticketContribution to pension scheme and occupational disability insuranceReady to join us?Please submit your application with your up-to-date CV.
