Senior Counsel (m/f/x) - EMEA Employment Law (Focus: Germany & Switzerland)

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our dynamic team as Senior Employment Counsel. In this pivotal role, you’ll influence strategic decisions, guide HR and business leaders, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions—primarily Germany and Switzerland.
The Role:
1. Serve as the primary legal advisor for employment law matters across EMEA, with a focus on Germany and Switzerland.
2. Provide strategic counsel on organizational change initiatives, including restructurings and workforce planning.
3. Lead negotiations with works councils and manage complex employment-related projects.
4. Oversee litigation and manage external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality outcomes.
5. Advise on HR policies, compliance, and internal investigations.
6. Deliver training sessions to HR and business leaders on key employment law topics.
What We’re Looking For:
7. Legal Qualification: 1st and 2nd German State Exam; licensed to practice law in Germany.
8. Experience: Minimum 8 years in employment law, including 3+ years in-house.
9. Expertise: Strong knowledge of German law; experience with Swiss, UK, or French employment law is a plus.
10. Skills: Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
11. Industry Background: Pharma, biotech, or medical device experience preferred.

The role reports to the Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel, Global Employment Law
