The " Staff software engineer - AI ” will play a critical role in developing an AI-first mindset within the Product & Engineering departments at SAP LeanIX and push the boundaries of our understanding and usage of the latest technology. The role includes the following responsibilities: Collaborate within a small fast moving team to stay on top of latest advancements in AI Work on discovery projects to learn and apply latest AI advancements to our product Help teams integrate solutions from discovery into real features in production Lead the evolution of our AI architecture and supporting technology Build new internal tools to help the company leverage GenAI better Validate new approaches and spread learnings through all teams at LeanIX WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for an experienced engineer who: Has a strong software engineering experience and can build end to end solutions Is used to working and communicating across multiple teams and across the engineering org Understands machine learning concepts behind Generative AI Promotes a test-driven approach to building AI features Is interested in latest developments in the field of Generative AI, and has used it in business scenarios. Experiments and uses the latest technology hands on. Is customer oriented, wants to understand and build the right thing for the customers Is proactive, curious and eager to learn Likes to work on prototypes and explores new approaches, but knows how to build rock solid final solutions You bring in the following experience: Knowledge of the concepts behind AI systems Experience building evaluation pipelines for AI and managing experiments Expertise in prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and AI Agents Hands-on experience with building, extending and improving Generative AI systems Staff level software engineering experience to build a working end-to-end solution with high quality Shared knowledge broadly or mentored people/teams within your previous company Proven focus on solving customer problems and delivering value Hands-on mentality paired with strong curiosity Excellent communication skills in English You bring in as a bonus: Deep machine learning and statistics experience Can cover the full stack Prior knowledge in the domain of Enterprise Architecture Management WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?
