Your Role
* Help design, build, and improve our data infrastructure, focusing on back-end architecture, database management, and orchestration systems.
* Collaborate on data pipelines and services built with Python, PostgreSQL, Airflow, and AWS services (ECS, Fargate, ECR, S3, RDS).
* Contribute to implementing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK), observability, and CI/CD practices (e.g., GitHub Actions).
* Take part in architecting and optimizing data models, managing schema design, and performing migrations with tools like SQLAlchemy and Alembic.
* Help develop and maintain microservices and APIs to connect data systems with internal and external platforms.
* Work with engineering, taxonomy, and platform teams to define data contracts and support reliable data flows.
* Apply cybersecurity standards, operational excellence, and consistency in data versioning and monitoring where appropriate.
* Contribute ideas to architectural planning, support technical mentorship, and help shape the evolving direction of the data organization.
Your Skills
* Hands-on experience in Python and PostgreSQL, including database design, modeling, and optimization.
* Knowledge of orchestration tools (such as Airflow) and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK) is a plus.
* Understanding of core data architecture principles, normalization, migrations, and query tuning.
* Experience developing or maintaining APIs and microservices in cloud environments is welcome.
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/observability in production systems is beneficial.
* Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and data governance in distributed data systems is helpful.
* Ability to work independently on data engineering tasks and collaborate well within teams in a lean technical landscape.
