ENG Bauen continues to partner with a top global engineering contractor on a major industrial construction project in the Cologne region. This multimillion‑euro advanced facility is pivotal to the circular economy, integrating cutting‑edge electrical and instrumentation systems across process units, utilities, and support infrastructure.
We are now seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Inspector to join the onsite Quality team. Reporting to the Quality Lead, you will oversee E&I installation activities, ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and drive rigorous quality checks throughout all phases of construction.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on QA/QC professional to make a direct impact on a key energy infrastructure project, working closely with contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest quality and safety benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and inspect daily electrical and instrumentation construction activities to ensure adherence to project codes, standards, and specifications.
* Approve incoming E&I materials and equipment through visual, dimensional, and documentation checks, and enter quality records into the Completions Management System.
* Participate in Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) activities, witness tests, and verify that all inspection results are accurately logged and closed out.
* Coordinate with Construction Management, HSSE, and subcontractor teams to resolve quality issues, perform risk assessments, and support corrective/preventive actions.
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent technical certification).
* 5+ years of QA/QC or Inspection experience in electrical and instrumentation roles within petrochemical, oil & gas, power, or heavy industry.
* Proven knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality systems, plus familiarity with VDE/IEC standards for E&I installation.
* Fluent German (written & spoken) and good command of English; strong report‑writing and communication skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and quality management databases.
