The role as Head of Real Estate – Mid-EU is reporting directly to our Vice President of Global Real Estate.
The role will be based in Germany and will be part of our Real Estate team within the Growth Department. The role is regional, covering Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, and involves close collaboration with Construction & Development, Legal, and Operations teams. The overall responsibility will be to identify, source, negotiate, and guide the development of Joe & the Juice’s store portfolio in the region. The objective is to make real estate a competitive advantage that supports and accelerates the company’s growth targets.
This role includes regular travel, primarily for site visits in the designated markets, meetings at our HQ in Copenhagen, and participation in relevant industry events.
You will be part of our global Real Estate team in the Global Growth Department. The team is responsible for identifying and developing store locations across multiple international markets and collaborates closely with Construction & Development, Legal, and Operations to ensure timely and cost-effective expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Define the market strategy for real estate growth in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and potentially other markets in close collaboration with the VP of Global Retail.
* Analyze markets for potential locations together with our team of external brokers.
* Assess the feasibility of new locations using internal, macro, and socio-economic data.
* Lead landlord negotiations from LOI stage to signed leases.
* Develop new store business cases with HQ functions, Development & Construction, and Business Partnering.
* Participate in site surveys, work letter negotiations, and design development.
* Support on permit applications and new store construction processes.
* Track and communicate all key milestones from site identification to store opening.
* Monitor KPIs on store openings such as sales, operating months, and payback.
* Oversee and optimize existing store portfolio and landlord relationships.
* Prepare the region’s annual growth budget in collaboration with VP and CGO.
Key Qualifications
* Self-directed and capable of independently managing deals to completion.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management across departments.
* Strong alignment with Joe & The Juice’s virtues: Positive Attitude, Inclusion, Social Ties, and Growth.
* Minimum five years of experience in real estate for a national/regional brand or top-tier CRE brokerage.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and financial modeling tools.
* Fluency in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
