We are seeking a Category Manager to drive and implement commodity strategies for global categories in alignment with the overall sourcing strategy, while continuously looking for opportunities to increase productivity, optimize external spending, and reduce costs.
* The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with local teams and business partners to ensure that local demands are considered in the strategy.
* This role involves identifying and evaluating potential as well as existing suppliers, maintaining strong relationships with them, and introducing innovation from the external marketplace into the company.
* The successful candidate will also serve as a contact point within the Sourcing team to align issue resolutions, common goals, strategies, and manage demands to ensure a smooth transfer of relevant information both internally and externally.
* Furthermore, this position requires optimizing buying channels, leveraging market opportunities, and making efficient use of sourcing tools such as reverse auction, parallel negotiation, etc.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or life sciences, ideally with experience in contracting / sourcing / purchasing in clinical development and an understanding of the global CRO market.
* You should also have initial experience in category management and an international working environment.
* Prior knowledge of compliance requirements, e.g., GxP, is desirable.
* Advanced Knowledge in English is essential, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
