Job purpose overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will arrange the company’s day‑to‑day operational functions, ensuring efficiency and excellence across all departments.
The COO works closely with owners, CEOs and board members to develop and drive operational strategy, improve processes, and enhance client satisfaction.
The COO is responsible for the overall financial success of the company, from formulating strategy to executing it on operational and tactical levels. This includes analyzing and measuring performance metrics, cross‑functional collaboration, continuous process optimization, and maintaining focus on areas of growth or potential issues.
Key responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s objectives, collaborate with the CEO and executive team, and drive growth and profitability through monitoring and reporting of operational measures.
- Operational Management: Manage daily operations, project management, resource allocation, workflow optimization, and monitor key metrics.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality, while streamlining operations and reducing costs.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, diversity, innovation, and high performance.
- Client Relations: Ensure efficient delivery of testing services through well‑organized processes, maintaining high client satisfaction and contract growth. Address client‑related operational issues promptly.
- Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
- ESG Initiatives: Lead development and execution of ESG initiatives, sustainability, and corporate governance.
Successful Applicant
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operational managerial positions (CFO, Supply Chain Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Head of Sales, Business Analyst, etc.) with at least 5 years in senior/middle‑management leadership, preferably in tech, digital, or e‑commerce.
- Strategic thinker with visionary outlook and innovation drive, able to challenge the status quo and implement strategic development plans.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Consistently works with data and analytics, measuring performance, identifying bottlenecks, managing reports, and optimizing funnels and conversions.
- Speaks English (C1+) and preferably German (B2+).
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process optimization.
