About This Role
We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our embedded systems development initiatives. As Head of Embedded Systems Development, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of complex projects while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of firmware and electronics developers, providing targeted coaching, training, and constructive feedback to drive professional growth and development.
* Elevate project management by ensuring timely delivery, adhering to schedules and budgets, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
* Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including hardware development, quality assurance, and external partners to drive successful project outcomes.
* Pioneer modular platform solutions, integrating emerging technologies and trends in embedded systems to enhance quality and reduce development costs.
* Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Your Background:
* Hold a degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
* Demonstrate extensive experience in developing high-performing teams within regulated environments, preferably in medical device development.
* Showcase expertise in technical leadership, collaborating with and managing external partners globally.
* Exhibit profound knowledge of relevant programming languages (C, C++, Python), Linux-based real-time operating systems (Zephyr), microcontrollers, and bus systems (CAN, CAN-FD, TSN).
* Prove proficiency in modern product and software development methods, utilizing CI/CD tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
* Demonstrate hands-on experience with platform development and product line engineering.
* Show application-related project management skills, using both classic and agile approaches as necessary.
* Display a solution-oriented and analytical mindset, along with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Enjoy working in diverse international teams and possess excellent written and spoken English skills, with good German skills also desirable.
