YOUR MISSION AT VOI
As a Senior Market Development Manager, you will own the commercial and regulatory success of key cities in Germany, shaping how micromobility is deployed, scaled, and made profitable in close partnership with city leaders.
You’ll build long-term relationships with local decision-makers, lead market entries and tenders, and work cross-functionally to improve rider experience, unit economics, and compliance. Reporting to the Head of Market Development, you’ll collaborate closely with Policy, Operations, Growth, and Product teams to strengthen Voi’s footprint in existing and new markets. This will include:
1. Leading the commercial growth and development of Voi’s micromobility services by collaborating closely with city representatives, driving revenue, and delivering measurable improvements in performance.
2. Building and managing strong relationships with city stakeholders (e.g. city administrators, public transport authorities), leading initiatives that align with city priorities and strengthen long-term partnerships.
3. Identifying and driving growth and change opportunities within existing and new markets to improve profitability, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
4. Evaluating market entry opportunities, including commercial viability, regulatory readiness, and strategic fit.
5. Representing Voi in pre-tender and tender processes with cities considering micromobility solutions.
6. Leading negotiations with cities, ensuring agreements that balance regulatory expectations with Voi’s financial objectives.
7. Acting as the primary point of contact for city stakeholders, ensuring compliance, addressing concerns, and developing pragmatic solutions that improve the rider experience.
8. Leveraging data, analytics, and market insights to understand city-level performance and collaborating with local teams on initiatives that improve efficiency and unit economics.
WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK
We’re looking for an analytical and structured business professional who enjoys working at the intersection of cities, commercial performance, and strategy, and who can build trust with senior external stakeholders. In addition to this, we believe the right person has:
9. A B.Sc in business, engineering, or a similar field.
10. Professional fluency in German and English.
11. 3–7+ years of experience in roles such as market development, strategy, operations, public-sector consulting, government relations, or positions involving complex external or public-sector stakeholders, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
12. Proven experience managing and negotiating with external stakeholders, for example within regulated or public-sector-heavy industries.
13. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholder needs.
14. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
15. Experience working with business performance metrics, business cases, or budgets, and a curiosity to go deep into data and analytics (Excel proficiency expected).
