Your Job
As aTest & Validation Engineer, you will be an essential member of our Engineering Validation Team at Molex VAS (Vehicle Antenna Systems) in Hildesheim. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing test concepts for the verification and validation of mechanical and electrical parts and components. The aim is to ensure that the parts meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements, quality standards and service life requirements from the prototype stage through to series production.
What You Will Do
1. Developing requirements and deriving test cases from requirements, drawings and specifications.
2. Designing and building test benches, test fixtures, and adapters for components, and specifying test equipment.
3. Developing and managing complete test concepts, including:
4. Test plans in accordance with OEM specifications.
5. Detailed test procedures (e.g. PVP&R) based on product-specific requirements.
6. Selection of test equipment, measurement setup and acceptance criteria.
7. Documentation and traceability (test ↔ requirement).
8. Planning, managing and conducting validation and verification tests (e.g. functionality, environmental performance, endurance testing, service life, reliability and EMC).
9. Conducting Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV) activities and delivering milestone results on time.
10. Coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to support validation and testing requirements.
11. Evaluating measurement results (e.g. statistical analysis).
12. Supporting root cause analyses, technical evaluations and deriving corrective actions.
13. Creating test reports, test instructions and test protocols, and reviewing and evaluating external laboratory reports.
14. Maintaining and managing validation databases (test tracking, results documentation, SharePoint, etc.) and presenting results to customers.
Who You Are
15. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Physics.
16. A solid understanding of mechanical principles (static, impact, fatigue and thermal effects).
17. Experience in mechanical and/or electrical development.
18. Initial experience in a validation environment. For example: Testing laboratories certified according to ISO 17025.
19. Experience in the automotive sector is desirable.
20. Analytical thinking and a structured approach to work, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills.
21. Willingness to travel to suppliers and customers.
22. Fluent English (spoken and written) and good German (spoken and written)
