Role Purpose
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining C programming, testing, and build environments (., IDE, automation tools). The role also supports the creation of an automated toolchain for model-based embedded functional and safety software development in compliance with automotive standards. In addition, the engineer contributes to defining the required strategies, team training, and issue analysis related to these environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain toolchains for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using MATLAB/Simulink and TargetLink
2. Design and implement automated testing solutions with BTC EmbeddedTester and MES MXAM in alignment with ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ASPICE standards
3. Support software configuration management using PTC Integrity (RV&S) and GitLab
4. Integrate automated testing into the continuous build process, including the integration of Vector tools (., CANoe, vFlash) with GitLab
5. Provide training and hands-on support to software teams in the application of model-based development methods and tools
6. Evaluate compliance with defined development methodologies and tool usage across software teams
7. Support and conduct root cause analysis for issues related to toolchains, processes, and automation workflows
Qualifications and Skills
8. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field
9. Solid programming skills in C and experience with model-based development (., MATLAB/Simulink, TargetLink)
10. Practical knowledge of test automation tools such as BTC EmbeddedTester and MES MXAM
11. Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ASPICE
12. Experience with software configuration management tools (., PTC Integrity / RV&S, GitLab, Git)
13. Knowledge of CI/CD processes and integration of toolchains into automated build and test pipelines
14. Experience with Vector tools (., CANoe, vFlash) is an advantage
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
16. Ability to train and support teams in using tools and applying software development methodologies
17. Good communication skills in English and German
