Lightspeed is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team. As a Backend developer, you will support Lightspeed's Hospitality product group in our mission to expand our reach into new markets and countries while enhancing our advanced hospitality commerce platform.
For this role specifically, you will join our Third Party Ecosystem Squad. This team is dedicated to enabling integrations that make our flagship product a more complete and sticky solution, empowering partnerships to drive new business. By integrating third-party services, you'll ensure seamless interoperability and enhance our platform's overall functionality and value. Your work will be pivotal in building a robust and flexible ecosystem that meets diverse customer needs.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Developing and Optimizing Integrations: Focus on developing and optimizing third-party integrations that enhance the functionality and stickiness of the K-Series platform.
2. Integration Design and Implementation: Design and implement integration solutions that expand our ecosystem, and ensure seamless interoperability with third-party services.
3. API Development: Build robust and complete RESTful APIs, ensuring they are well-documented and adhere to standards such as OpenAPI.
4. Clean Code and Documentation: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code to support the scalability and reliability of our platform.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Teams to achieve project objectives and enhance development practices.
6. Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance and implement monitoring solutions to ensure optimal operation and quick resolution of issues.
7. Continuous Learning and Growth: Extend your skills by learning from and growing with the team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
What You’ll Be Bringing to the Team
8. Excellent communication skills in English.
9. Outstanding Java knowledge with 5+ years of production usage experience.
10. Expert knowledge of the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
11. Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
12. Knowledge of monitoring applications for performance and reliability.
13. Experience with real-time messaging systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.).
14. Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming and design patterns.
15. Experience with building robust and complete RESTful APIs.
16. Familiarity with API documentation and standards such as OpenAPI.
17. Commitment to clean code, maintainability, and systematic correctness.
