Ground Support is a major supplier of ground control solutions for the mining and tunneling industry with a comprehensive product portfolio and a strong market position. Our offerings include advanced ground support products like injection chemicals and resins designed to meet rigorous technical standards for both soft and hard rock mining applications.

We embrace cutting‑edge technologies such as connectivity and digital twins to enhance operational efficiency and achieve cost savings globally. We represent in over 70 countries, have 20 production sites and employ over 2,400 people globally. With a passion for driving progress underground we help our customers work faster, smarter, and more safely and sustainably.


Your mission

As President of Ground Support take the overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing and integrating the strategic direction of our division. You have full P&L accountability for our global business including sales and manufacturing. With an eye on the future you execute on our growth ambitions and ensure that our organization is fit for purpose. The journey of integrating the Ground Support business into Sandvik is well advanced and will continue to be in focus. To be successful in the role you build good networks and collaboration in the division between our regions, cross‑divisional sales organizations and most importantly our customers.


Other essential parts of your responsibility include

* Translating our customers' needs into a compelling strategy and bringing it to life.
* Establishing and developing a value‑adding sales approach that quantifies and demonstrates why we are the customers’ first choice.
* Enhancing our offering and market‑leading products supported by a strong strategic plan and vision to unlock significant value for the organization and our stakeholders.
* Taking the lead in identifying and developing our next generation of leaders, empower our team and ensure responsible and sustainable business conduct.

You are a clear, driven and inspiring leader with line responsibility for our 2,400 employees, a true role model who mobilizes the organization and creates a culture where collaboration, new perspectives and results are in focus. As a valued member of the Business Area Management team you lead our high performing organization towards the future.

Your division covers a global industrial footprint from the Americas to Asia and includes the regions EMEA, North America, APAC, LATAM, Global Supply and Global Products.

The location for this position is flexible with a preference for Munich, Germany. You report to the President of Sandvik Mining. Global travel is a natural part of the role.


Your background and character

You have a background in general management including previous accountability for profit and loss statements in a global setting. A proven track record of managing B2B sales and business development in different markets is necessary. You know how to bring a division toward a successful future by listening to customer needs, prioritizing areas of development and developing a strategy into clear and well communicated execution plans.

You are a passionate entrepreneur with exceptional leadership skills and a confident, courageous mindset. It is a plus if you have relevant knowledge of the mining and construction industry. To perform well in our diverse setting you also need a highly developed cultural awareness and a proven track record of successful execution and delivery according to plan.

Most importantly you develop our business and the people around you through empowering, influential and credible leadership and you create a collaborative environment based on clear and precise communication. As we operate worldwide you also need advanced verbal and written proficiency in English.
