This is a critical facilities infrastructure role, part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to data center customers.

The Data Center Technician will perform moderately difficult preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components, including moderately difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systems. They will also monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolve moderately difficult alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities include:
">
">
* Performing moderately difficult preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components
">
* Performing moderately difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systems
">
* Monitoring the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolving moderately difficult alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating procedures
">
* Operating and maintaining plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems
">
* Operating critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staff
">
* Supporting the work approval process for service providers on moderately difficult maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out
">
* In cooperation with vendors, supporting modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-date
">
* Identifying Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and making recommendations
">
* Responding to all moderately difficult on-site incidents, including failures, problems and delays
">
* Using substantial understanding in following operating procedures to support on-site administration
">
* Completing routine work requests and circuit installations
">
* Troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment (if necessary); supporting auxiliary equipment and machines with problem solving and repairs to avoid/minimize downtime
">
* Making minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directed
">
* Carrying out infrastructure projects
">
* Collaborating with others to resolve moderately difficult facility incidents
">
* Effectively collaborating within the department; may mentor team members on general maintenance activities
">
* Providing stakeholders of inventory needs in order to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment
">
* May recommend infrastructure projects
">

Requirements
">
This role requires:
">
">
* A high school diploma and proven years of equivalent work experience
">
* Absorbed knowledge of Data Center operations, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Systems and other related fields
">
* An ability to develop basic maintenance schedules and task lists and coordinate associated documentation
">
* An ability to safely use hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
">
* An ability to learn and follow existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Data Center operations and specific job tasks
">
* An ability to maintain accurate records of daily activities, tasks and results
">
* An ability to analyze problems and make sound judgments
">
* An ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
">
* An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and vendors
">
* An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and management
">
* An ability to provide reliable support during out-of-hours call-outs
">
* An ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities

* An ability to pass any required background or reference checks
