Your responsibilities
1. During the 18–24 months trainee program, you will develop a deep understanding of Uniper’s asset portfolio, transformation strategy, and the broader energy market landscape.
2. You will learn from, collaborate with, and be mentored by experts across multiple disciplines within Uniper – gaining hands-on experience, contributing your ideas, and managing your own projects.
3. You will be part of our active trainee community, benefit from a wide range of training and development opportunities, and build a strong internal network across the company.
4. You will begin your program in the Asset Transformation unit for the first six months, where you will work closely with colleagues to shape Uniper’s transition towards a sustainable and decarbonized asset base. After that, you will rotate flexibly based on your personal development interests – designing your own individual placement plan with support from your dedicated mentor.
5. In your predefined home unit Asset Transformation, you will support strategic asset lifecycle planning, contribute to decarbonization initiatives, evaluate business cases for asset conversions or closures, and work on investment planning and portfolio development projects – all while contributing to Uniper’s energy transition goals.
6. We are looking for two trainees across different focus areas within Asset Transformation, Asset Compliance, and in the Portfolio Office. If you have a preferred area, please indicate this in your application.
Your profile
7. Successfully completed studies in engineering, industrial engineering, economics, energy management, or a similar discipline with relevance to infrastructure, energy, or transformation topics
8. First practical experience through internships and/or working student roles, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, energy, or transformation programs – international experience is a plus
9. Interest in the energy transition and a strong understanding of asset-based business models, sustainability, and decarbonization drivers
10. Motivated to learn and grow in a dynamic, international environment – with initiative, curiosity, and a proactive mindset
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, along with the ability to engage stakeholders across different functions and levels
12. Fluency in English is required, German is a plus

Based in Germany, the program gives you a deep insight into our day-to-day business and helps you to explore your personal strengths.
