The appointment may be made at the Assistant or Associate level, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Assistant / Associate Professor of Experimental Physics in "Advanced Materials Science" (m/f/d) (full time; Investigating organic hybrid materials, two-dimensional (2D) materials, or materials based on functionalized surfaces Exploit quantum or interface effects and combine experimental and computational approaches Maintain a cutting-edge externally funded research program at the forefront of the field which complements existing research groups in the School of Science Teaching in Physics and Advanced Materials Science (lectures and laboratory courses) at the BSc, MSc, and PhD level Take a pivotal role in the new MSc program «Advanced Materials Science» with your research experience and via the development and implementation of innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to online, hybrid and in-person teaching and learning Advising of students on their studies, and the supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD theses and research projects Your qualifications: PhD degree in the field of Physics or Materials Science Strong publication record in relevant international journals Documented research activities in the field of Advanced Materials Science Experience in the acquisition of Third-Party funding Experience in successful teaching in international and diverse environments, with a demonstratable interest in applying innovative teaching and learning approaches Intercultural experience and competence Responsible, self-motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus Ideally, you are eligible for an ERC starting grant (assistant level) or an ERC consolidator grant (associate level) What you can expect: Several opportunities exist to develop multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with other research groups or our industrial partners and to leverage existing research facilities like a clean room, an X-ray diffractometer and a computer cluster.
