Our department, Europe IPC : International Procurement Centre is responsible for sourcing and purchasing components and materials for our products (Smartphone, TV, Home appliances, etc.) from suppliers headquartered in the EMEA region.
Our activities lead to new functionalities, design, quality and price competitiveness of our products.
We are looking for an individual who is a Tech enthusiast with a desire to begin their career journey in the procurement sector of the consumer electronics industry as
Sourcing Specialist (m/f/d) - Korean fluency
Location: Eschborn
Role and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for sourcing companies (potential suppliers) of a component/material category
2. Introduce and promote competitive company/solutions that satisfy the requirements of HQ R&D and Procurement teams
3. Evaluate the company’s competitiveness in terms of technology, quality, cost and supply
4. Develop collaborative relationships with innovative technology companies
5. Guide, consult and nurture companies to meet Samsung’s supplier requirements
6. Via self-initiation, search & discover high-potential competitive companies and proactively propose for evaluation, achieving project-win and design-win in Samsung products
7. Research & analyze Market, competitor, tech, supply chain information that can affect Samsung, create and deliver Market Intelligence reports to HQ leadership in Korean language
8. Support HQ colleagues with supply troubleshooting, business meetings/visits, events and fairs
9. Perform : Market research, new supplier scouting, tech evaluation, proposal, sample purchasing
10. price and business T&C negotiations, auditing, contracting, supply chain verifications and internal vendor system registrations
Skills and Qualifications
11. Degree in STEM discipline from a reputable university (Technical background or comparable), abundant internship experience but limited to 2 years of career experience preferred
12. Write and speak Korean and English at a high level of professional fluency,
able to persuade and influence HQ/suppliers with excellent communication skills
13. Organiaational and Tech savvy, commercially astute, up to date with the latest consumer electronics market trends and product releases, solid understanding of technical concepts and functions
14. Proficient in MS Office; advanced in Excel and PowerPoint, able to data crawl and
create reader-centric reports and presentations
15. Energetic outgoing great teammate with a forward-thinking, self-initiating attitude, able to comfortably make cold calls, approach strangers, striving for challenges and self-development
16. German/EU work visa and driving license holder, accustomed to European business culture, market and local customs, able to travel frequently and navigate within Europe and Korea
