A global leader in optical metrology is seeking a Software Test Engineer to strengthen their team in Bergisch Gladbach. Their precision measurement systems are key to ensuring the quality and performance of microchips used in the most advanced electronic devices worldwide.
Their site near Cologne, we design and manufacture highly complex metrology solutions - from hardware to in-house developed software - that detect even the tiniest irregularities at the nanoscale level. Now they're expanding our expert team with someone who’s passionate about software quality and modern industrial technologies.
What You’ll Be Working On:
* Validating new software features directly on our high-tech metrology systems or using virtual test environments .
* Verifying seamless communication between our software and external systems such as sensors, robotics, and fab-level control systems (MES/Host).
* Designing, planning, and executing both manual and automated test cases across multiple development phases.
* Supporting the creation of test plans and structured test specifications to uphold quality assurance.
* Collaborating with software developers, hardware engineers, product managers, and service teams to drive consistent product improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in computer science, engineering, electrical engineering, physics - or a similar technical field.
* Some practical experience in software or hardware testing, ideally within industrial measurement or automation systems .
* Familiarity with testing frameworks or standards (e.g., ISO 29119, ISTQB) is a plus.
* Strong technical insight and enthusiasm for high-precision and future-ready technologies.
* Analytical mindset and a reliable, structured approach to problem-solving.
* Fluent in German, with solid communication skills in English.
