To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a strong customer and team orientation who ensures stable, highly available and compliant operation as well as the continuous development of the company-wide Check Point firewall and security infrastructure.
You will be responsible for securing network transitions, implementing security policies and integrating firewalls into existing network, monitoring and operating processes.
Your responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the smooth, secure and highly available operation of the Check Point Firewall infrastructure (on-prem, virtual if necessary and close to the cloud)
2. Further development of the firewall architecture taking into account security, compliance and corporate policies
3. Responsibility for the network transitions (perimeter, DMZ, inter-VLAN) based on Check Point Security Gateways
4. Maintenance and further development of security policies, NAT rules and VPN structures
5. Ensure stable interaction between firewall, LAN and adjacent security components
6. Management and technical coordination of external service providers in the firewall and security environment
7. Operation, maintenance and use of company-wide monitoring and logging solutions (e.g. Check Point SmartEvent, log servers, SIEM connections)
8. Ensure complete documentation, versioning, and backup of Check Point configurations
9. Independent processing of incidents, changes and service requests in first- and second-level support with a focus on firewall / security
10. Analysis and rectification of faults including troubleshooting at package, session and policy level
11. Independent documentation of work results as well as use and maintenance of knowledge management platforms
12. Participation in the standardization and automation of operational processes in firewall and security operations
Your qualifications:
13. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
14. At least 5 years of professional experience in network topologies and in the administration of Check Point firewalls (security gateways, management, policies, VPN)
15. Knowledge of related network environments (e.g., Cisco, Aruba) is an advantage
16. Check Point certifications (e.g., CCSA, CCSE)
17. Project experience in firewall rollouts, migrations, or security optimizations
18. Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving abilities
19. High degree of personal responsibility and reliability as well as a structured, documentation-oriented work style
20. Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
