Your Role And Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated working student to support us as a software developer in our IBM Z Firmware team, analyzing and optimizing system performance across different processor architectures. In this role, you will:
* Conduct performance measurements on various processor architectures
* Compare and evaluate results based on architectural differences
* Work hands-on with Linux applications and tools
* Use both simulation platforms and real hardware for test execution
* Design, implement, and operate an automated test pipeline to streamline performance testing
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in performance engineering, Linux-based development, and automated test environments while working with cutting‑edge processor technologies. The employment contract comprises a 10–20‑hour workweek at IBM.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
* Matriculation at an university in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field
* System architecture knowledge
* At least one programming language
* Experience with Linux operating system
* Fluent in German / English language
