Inyourinternshipat agloballyleadingmedicaltechnologycompany,you’llberightinthemiddleoftheaction:Our team is specialized in the development of clinical navigation systems for minimally invasive ENT surgery. Clinical navigation systems (StrykerScopisSystem) are used to guide surgeons by displaying the position of medical instruments on three-dimensional CT or MRI data of the patient, andultimately toprecisely reach anatomical targets. The team uses the latest technologies such as computer vision, augmentedrealityand AI for computer-assisted surgery.

1. Weareofferinga Master Thesis inareaofInteractiveGuidanceforNavigatedENTSurgery.
2. Youwilllearnandapplythelatesttechnologiesinmachinevision,computergraphics, human-computerinteractionandinteractivesystems.
3. YouwillhavetheopportunitytodevelopprototypesforourSurgicalNavigation System and supportourteamwithyourproof-of-conceptapplication.
4. YouwillimplementyoursolutionusingC++orPython andMatlabandevaluateitin anecosystemconsistingofstate-of-the-artnavigationandimagingsystems.
5. Youwillbeanactivememberofourinternational andinterdisciplinaryresearchanddevelopmentteam.

6. Youarestudyingforamaster’sdegreeincomputerscience,medicalengineering,mathematics,physicsoracomparablesubject.
7. You have experience with object-oriented programming languages (C/C++), script languages (e.g.Python,Matlab)andpreferably libraries (OpenCV, Qt, DCMTK).
8. Youhaveagoodgraspofmathematics.
9. Youwanttotacklechallengingproblemsinmedicalengineering.
10. YouhaveagoodcommandofEnglish andideallyagoodcommandofGerman.
11. Youworkindependently,arehighlymotivatedandcommitted, andarepreparedtotakeonresponsibilityquickly.
