AI Futures are retained by a leading German bank to find a world-class Director of Artificial Intelligence.
This is a greenfield mandate and a rare opportunity to build an enterprise AI function from scratch within a systemically important German bank. You will be given the full resources and institutional backing to construct a team of up to 30 specialists, with broader matrix responsibility across 50–60 people.
The Opportunity
* Own the AI strategy end-to-end (vision, roadmap and execution)
* Build and lead an AI team of up to 30 direct reports
* Partner with C-suite across risk, compliance, technology and business lines
* Drive automation, intelligent decisioning and new AI-powered products
* Shape the long-term AI talent strategy for the organisation
What we're looking for
* Proven track record building large AI / data science teams (15+ people)
* Deep expertise in applied AI (ML, NLP, generative or agentic AI)
* Experience in regulated industries; financial services a strong plus
* Ability to influence at C-suite and board level
* Fluent German and English (essential)
