You will work closely with the technical founding team and the multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and scientists to make ultra-deep drilling fast and cheap.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design state of the art, robust, high-stability optomechanical systems for high average power laser systems</li><li>Perform opto-mechanical analysis to optimize thermal drift & mounting stress</li><li>Perform CAD or FEM model of optical setups including stray light analysis and non-sequential ray tracing for reflections and determining material characteristics of optical setup</li><li>Create drawings using tools such as Siemens NX to develop and procure optics, mechanics and support items</li><li>Develop test plans for evaluation of the designs</li><li>Work with optical and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated designs for use in harsh environment (i.e. ruggedization, ISO compliance)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual who possesses:</p><ul><li>BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or related field</li><li>Direct design experience with precision opto-mechanical products</li><li>Previous experience working with high-average power systems (>10 kW) in harsh environments</li><li>Experience working with mounting of optical fibers</li><li>Strong CAD, FEM and design-for-manufacturing skills.</li><li>Hands-on experimental and prototyping experience.</li><li>You demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English</li><li>You are willing to reside in the greater Munich area</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li>An opportunity to make a huge impact on the future of Europe by increasing resilience and providing a path to resource and energy sovereignty</li><li>A human-centered company culture with super nice and supportive colleagues</li><li>A great sense of community through team events and fun in and outside the office</li><li>Highly competitive compensation and benefits package</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology and contributing to a more sustainable future, we encourage you to apply by sending your CV and any other documents.</p>
