Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team in the Kerl Lab at the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic. The successful candidate will have a strong background in life sciences, human medicine, or related fields, with expertise in immunology or cancer immunology.
About the Project
The project focuses on identifying mechanisms of cellular communication between immune and tumor cells in pediatric cancer. We use advanced single cell-based technologies, including single cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and multiplex immunohistochemistry.
Responsibilities
* Working with single cell-based technologies and in vitro models
* Independent planning, execution, documentation, analysis, and interpretation of experiments
* Presentation of results in both written and oral form, delivery of reports
* Support and supervision of projects from PhD students
* Acquisition of project funding/securing grants
Requirements
* Doctorate/PhD in life sciences, human medicine, or related fields
* Successful postdoctoral experience in immunology or cancer immunology, with an excellent publication record
* Experience with transcriptomics and immunohistochemistry
* A background in cell culture of diverse cell lines, 3D cultures, and primary immune cells
* Oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team
