About DSC - ScaDS.AI The Data Science Center ScaDS.AI Leipzig is one of the permanently established national center for artificial intelligence at Leipzig University, which is financed by the federal government and the Free State of Saxony. The center will be established as a central facility of Leipzig University and in the medium term will bring together more than 200 staff members at the Leipzig site alone. The Living Lab at ScaDS.AI is a real-world laboratory for science communication, making current research at ScaDS.AI and in the field of Artificial Intelligence tangible and accessible. It develops demonstrators, interactive exhibits, and exchange formats that invite people to actively experience and engage with research. Your tasks Your tasks are design, development, and maintenance of AI demonstrators (exhibits, interactive applications, web apps). Also contribution to science communication formats (workshops, meetups, exhibitions, etc.) Your profile Ideal candidates preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, although this is not a strict requirement. A strong interest in machine learning, excellent programming skills, the ability to work independently, and team spirit are essential. Very good German language skills are mandatory. Experience in at least one of the following areas is desirable: electronics, sensor technology, 3D printing, or media technology. We offer Part-time position, from 8 hours per week Start date: June 1, 2026 (at the earliest) We provide insights into current AI research and its applications, as well as the opportunity to implement your own ideas in demonstrators and formats. You can expect a diverse role at the intersection of technology, design, and science communication within a committed interdisciplinary team, with flexible working hours. In addition, you will actively contribute to the further development of the Living Lab as an open space for experiencing AI and fostering dialogue.
