What you'll do:
We are seeking an innovative, communicative, and self-driven individual with technical competence. Your expertise in cloud techniques, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, containers, orchestration, and automation, is highly valued. You have the ability to quickly grasp complex architecture and integration approaches, map these to solutions and capabilities on our platform to ensure successful implementation or migration according to tight timelines. You have the consultative and leadership qualities to both listen to the stakeholder’s needs and continuously improve and drive feature innovations based on stakeholder’s requirements. Your mature and developed communication style enables you to both speak to teams of solution architects as well as to convey these topics to executives or lay persons in reports or presentations. You should also have a passion for continuous learning and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
In this central role you support the Central Engineering Teams with the tasks as follows:
1. Work closely with the experts and stakeholders to understand the underlying SAP Cloud Infrastructure. You work on different tooling to improve our existing build-up & decommissioning processes, such as Netbox and documentation.
2. Provide applications around financial topics like pricing, costing, simulations and further analysis to support previously manual processes and improve their quality and efficiency.
3. Implement activities include testing and all related continuous integration/ continuous development matters. Maintenance activities include error analysis and mitigation. You are expected to work on existing services to extend, modify and adapt their design or collaborate with other services to collect the necessary data.
4. Shape the ProcessOperations Team with all required workflows, communication streams and reporting to build the bridge between different engineering teams. Coordinate the meetings to enhance the transparency and remove silos between different engineering teams to discover dependency.
5. Constantly analyze and develop our support-related as well as central processes with regard to potential efficiency gains. Define appropriate measures and put them into practice.
6. Support general team coordination tasks in a multinational team of more than 100 members.
What you bring:
7. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, Economics or Industrial Engineering at a university or a university of applied sciences.
8. Proven experience in software development (preferably full stack) of 5+ years, with a focus on delivering high-quality software on time and within budget.
9. Be familiar with necessary concept like ETL, SQL, BI, Big Data, OLAP.
10. Profound knowledge in at least one application programming language like Golang, python, Java, C# and the ability to apply abstract patterns to a new language. Other useful technical knowledge is around RDBMS (e.g. HANA, Postgres), Kubernetes and CI/ CD like Concourse.
11. A track record of working with methodologies like Agile (Scrum, Kanban) or Waterfall, with collaboration in cross-functional teams and complex project schedules. Having operated a product or service in a production environment is a Plus.
12. Background in Cloud industry-specific processes is required to understand the domain and requirements.
13. Strong skills in MS Excel and Power Point required, highly skilled in BPMN Modelling is a plus.
14. Language skills: fluent in English, German as a plus

Soft skills: Excellent presentation, communication and problem-solving skills, have a thorough way of working with accuracy, take proactive initiatives, self-dependent and structured mode of working, high level of commitment and reliability, ready to work in a constantly changing, floating environment, fun working in a multinational team.

The SAP Cloud Infrastructure is a private cloud solution managed by SAP. It is an internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform deployed worldwide in 17 regions to support all of SAP’s cloud businesses on a global scale.
The Central Engineering Process Operations Team is the “control center” for the development and operations teams contributing to SAP Cloud Infrastructure. It is the connector between these teams and helps with processes, products, tools, communication, and various central functions to smooth collaboration and enable end-to-end ownership for our platform. This also includes forecasting & budgeting, the coordination and tracking of our infrastructure build-up and decommissioning processes in SAP data centers.
