A leading renewable energy client is looking to hire a driven Senior Investment Manager with a focus on BESS to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end investment activity across cutting-edge energy storage and infrastructure projects, while playing a key role in shaping the energy transition.
You’ll be involved in every stage of the transaction process – from market screening and opportunity assessment, through to execution and operational handover – with a strong focus on both the technical and commercial dimensions of BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead investment projects across the full lifecycle – from origination to financial close and commissioning – with a focus on BESS, as well as solar, wind and infrastructure
* Identify, evaluate and execute national and international investment opportunities in energy storage and related technologies
* Manage and coordinate full due diligence processes, overseeing external advisers (legal, tax, technical, ESG, insurance etc.)
* Build robust integrated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), perform sensitivity analyses, and structure risk/return scenarios
* Negotiate and close key commercial agreements, including financing contracts, PPAs, EPCs, O&M, and M&A deals
* Prepare and present investment materials to internal stakeholders and committees
* Represent the company at major energy and infrastructure events across Germany and Europe
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to transition completed projects into asset management and long-term operations
Requirements:
* Strong experience in energy investment, project finance or M&A – ideally with a focus on battery storage or broader energy infrastructure
* Advanced Excel modelling and financial analysis capabilities
* Proven ability to manage transaction processes and stakeholders end-to-end
* Fluent German language skills are essential
* Based in Hamburg or willing to relocate / travel there frequently
* Proactive, commercial and hands-on mindset
